CIRCULATION SERVICES

A currently valid Nassau Community College identification card is required to borrow Library materials. The Library circulates books which are loaned for 21 days and Media materials which are loaned for 7 days and 14 days.

SERVICES: The following services are offered at our main desk:  Check out and return of books and media; check out and return of textbooks and other items in the Reserve Collection; placement of holds on items; collection of late fines; clearing of impounded records; registration of patrons and account information and lost and found. Periodicals (print magazines, newspapers and journals) and Media Reserve items (videos, audios; models, etc.) may be borrowed from the Media Reserve/ Periodicals Room (L102).

HOLD REQUESTS: Patrons may place a hold on any item that is listed in NASCAT as "loaned". Holds may be placed at the Circulation counter. As soon as the item is returned, the patron will be notified. Circulation Services will keep the item aside for seven days for patron pick-up.

STACK ASSISTANCE: The Help Desks are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library.  They are staffed Monday - Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.  If you need assistance in locating a specific book on the shelf a Help Desk staff member will assist you.  During hours that the Help Desk is not covered Circulation Services, on the first floor, will provide assistance to any individual encountering a problem locating an item on the shelf.

SUNY OPEN ACCESS: Through the SUNY Open Access Program, NCC students, faculty and staff may borrow materials from any SUNY Library. A valid NCC ID card is required.
