INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

 

Professor John Day, the Library Instructional Designer, offers assistance to Faculty, Staff and Administrators in developing and using technology for instruction. Assistance is provided in enhancing the quality of instruction through technology, including:

  • Assistance in course and curriculum design, including new teaching methods and technologies.
     
  • Guidance in using the CE6 course tools.
     
  • Development of webpages or online tutorials for use in CE6, to supplement course content.
     
  • Compressed Powerpoint presentations for use in CE6.
     
  • Tutorials in using Powerpoint, Frontpage (Webpage editor), Photoshop (Image editor), Camtasia (PC screen recorder), and Impatica (web compressor for Powerpoint).
     
  • Quicktime animations to visually illustrate specific concepts.
     
  • Image or slide scanning for use in handouts, manuals, or CDs
     
  • Assistance in locating instructional software.
     
  • Assistance in using Respondus, a quiz generating program.
     
  • Other instructional materials, including edited instructional videotapes, digital and 35mm photography, slide presentations, and computer generated color transparencies.
