REFERENCE SERVICES
BIBLIOGRAPHIC INSTRUCTION
The Library faculty offers instruction on
library research tailored to the needs of individual classes.
Lectures are given in the Library during normal class hours and must
be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. See Library Instruction
Request Form.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Materials not owned by the Library may be
obtained through Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan Forms are
available online
or at the Reference Desk. In order to fill a a request, a complete
citation is necessary. Allow two weeks for receipt of materials.
RESEARCH LOAN PROGRAM
This program
enables Library patrons to borrow materials in-person from
cooperating member libraries of the Long Island Resources Council. Libraries include local
private colleges and universities such as Hofstra, Adelphi and C. W.
Post. A specific title with its call number is required.
Material may be borrowed for one month and the borrower is
responsible for all overdue fines and fees.
To use this service, request a card at the Reference Desk.
ONLINE DATABASE SERVICE
The Library subscribes to several online
services which provide immediate access to databases containing
information on science, technology, business, medicine, social
sience, humanities and current affairs. Many of these databases have
full-text articles.
