Searching for information on the web can be trickier than it looks:

Web information is retrieved using a search engine. 

Each search engine maintains its own database of information that it constructs 
in a unique way, but no one search engine allows access to all information.
 
Google is an example of a popular search engine.

Keyword Searching

To cut down on your time, THINK about the keywords you will use before searching the internet. 

Some tips:

• Searching with only one keyword may result in millions of useless hits; on the other hand, 
  using a whole sentence may not prove effective either.

• Searches should be constructed carefully using special operators and specific keywords.

• Remember: each search engine has its own unique way of indexing and retrieving information; ALWAYS read the help screens and search tips before using a search engine.
