Using Truncation for a More Efficient Search

You may notice that some keyword lists include several forms of the same word, such as clone,
cloned, cloning.
When you use a truncation symbol, the computer will automatically search
for all forms of that word for you. In the following examples, we are using the truncation symbol (
?)
for the library book database.

Examples of truncated terms:
raci? retrieves racism, racial, racist
hered? retrieves
heredity, hereditary
legal? retrieves legal, legalize, legalized, legality, legalization
crim? retrieves crime, crimes, criminal, criminology
