Simply Google "Google Advanced Search" and you will see a new search page. This is a great way to search for information within a site like the New York Times, or the International Monetary Fund (Googles search engine works much better than the website search tool of most sites).

On your search results page, click the "Tools" tab and choose the "Anytime" drop down to set a "Custom" date range of article dates.
