Interlibrary Loan Service

Interlibrary loan is a free library service that allows currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, and administrators to request books, articles, media items etc. not owned by our library.  To begin placing requests, create an account in ILLiad, our library's interlibrary loan management system. Follow the instructions on the ILLiad login page. Most requests for books and media items are filled within a week, but articles often arrive in as little as one day.

The lending library determines the length of time their materials may be borrowed. Articles are sent electronically to your ILLiad account, and are yours to keep. You will be notified by email when an item arrives. Books and media items must be picked up and returned at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Library. A currently updated NCC ID must be presented.

If you have any questions, email us at libill@ncc.edu or call 516-572-7401 ext. 26035.

Research Loan Program

This program enables Library patrons to borrow materials in-person from cooperating member libraries of the Long Island Resources Council. Libraries include local private colleges and universities such as Hofstra, Adelphi and C. W. Post. A specific title with its call number is required. Material may be borrowed for one month and the borrower is responsible for all overdue fines and fees. To use this service, request a card at the Reference Desk.

SUNY Open Access

The SUNY Open Access Borrower Program allows SUNY students, faculty, and staff with a valid SUNY ID to use the facilities and collections of all other SUNY libraries. This includes the ability to borrow books and other materials which normally circulate. To view policies and participating schools, see Open Access Overview and Participants on the SUNY Connect Policies page.
