The Historical New York Times contains a wealth of information. Here are some tips for searching it for specific information.

Finding information by date

Go to advanced search

Scroll down to the publication date

Select the date you need

Then select the type of information you need- such as an article

or the front page of the paper

Hit search. You will then see all the relevant results. To select a specific article, click on the title or the PDF link. 

On the search page or the article page, you have options to save, print, cite or email the article.
