Paralegal and Legal Assistant Program @ NCC

NCC's ABA approved Paralegal and Legal Assistant program is designed to prepare our students to work as paralegal s or legal assistants.

Areas of Study 

Paralegal (A.A.S.) - The paralegal program, approved by the American Bar Association, is designed to give the graduate a broad understanding of the law, practical skills, and experience in a legal setting. Employment opportunities for paralegals exist in law offices, banks, insurance companies, private industry, title companies, and government. The paralegal works under the supervision of an attorney and can assist in all phases of practice except giving legal advice, appearing in court, and setting fees. The program will accept a maximum of 9 credits of paralegal specialty transfer credits. Paralegal students are required to complete a minimum of 9 paralegal credits in the traditional format at NCC.

Paralegal Studies (Cert.) - The American Bar Association approved Certificate program in Paralegal Studies is designed to meet the needs of the college graduate seeking a career as a paralegal. In order to be eligible for admission, a student must have either an Associate or Baccalaureate degree. Students with an Associate degree must meet the minimum general education requirements set by the American Bar Association.
The program will accept a maximum of 9 credits of paralegal specialty transfer credits. Paralegal students are required to complete a minimum of 9 paralegal credits in the traditional format at NCC.
