Permalinks: News Websites

Why use the database permalink instead of the website?

Many news websites are no longer free. Some news sites have ephemeral articles that disappear. 

News sites often have content that is different online.

Many students do not understand the difference between a website and an online article from a valid publication. 

Some "news" sites have questionable content.   

You may view an article on the web that has a "Share" option. Among the Share choices you may find Permalink.  Copy and paste that URL.

If Permalink is not a "Share" choice, you can still share the article with a class. Select "email" and send the article to your class list or Blackboard email list.
