BUS 114: International Business Research Guide: Business Insights Essentials Database

You can search the name or ticker symbol of a major company in the search box to get Company Histories, News, and other information if you are researching a particular company as part of your topic.

To search articles on a given topic in Business Insights Essentials, choose the Advanced Search option:

Next, enter keywords in the search boxes. Check the drop-down boxes and make sure they all say "keyword" or "entire document." Click the plus sign to add a third box. In the following search, I added a search box to look for articles about international trade between the U.S. and Japan, using the keywords: international trade / United States / Japan

Once you get a results page, look under the Articles and Reports area. You will notice articles from all different years. You can choose a custom publication date on the left side menu and enter, say, 2017 -2022.

Please note: Avoid any article that say "Brief Article." Once you select an article, click the title and see options for emailing, printing, saving, etc.
