Google Scholar is another good source for hard-to-find art criticism articles and academic handbook chapters.

Click the Settings Icon and choose Settings:
Next, click Library Links:
Search using Keywords in the Search bar (not a whole sentence, just an artists name, the title of a work, a group of works, a theme, a technique related to that work or artist, etc.
Look for scholary articles with a full text link toward the right side:

For articles that do not have a full text link, you can request a copy of the article from an institution which has a subscription to that journal. Each student has an account called ILLiad.
Click here and log in with your N# and portal password:
On the ILLiad home page, click New Request and Articles:
A Request Form will open up. Fill in as much information in the indicated fields below as you can and click Submit. You will receive an email regarding your request.
