Open Educational Resources: 2017-2018 Faculty Pioneers

Open educational resources (OER) are any resources available at little or no cost that can be used for teaching, learning, or research.

2017/2018 OER Pioneers!

On Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 we had our first OER Recognition Luncheon! We honored 9 faculty members as being OER Pioneers on the NCC campus.

Congratulations to Debra Grodenchik (Reading/BEP), Carol Neuhs (Reading/BEP), Sarah Berkovits (Reading/BEP), Jennifer Kohut (Reading/BEP), Michael Forte (Reading/BEP - not pictured),Harry Marenstein (Music), Joan Buckley (Nursing), Anna Feuerbach (Sociology/Anthropology) and Leslie Wong Loock (Library). Also included in the picture, Nancy Williamson (Library Chair) and Rosanne Humes (OER Coordinator).

In the Academic year of 2017 and 2018, here at Nassau Community College, Open Textbooks were used in 57 class sections by 868 students, saving the students over $73,000.
