Using the Business Insights: Essentials Database

Business Insights: Essentials database is a database which will help you to find and analyze your research results on a specific business. You can find company histories, SWOT reports, financials, ratios and investment reports on your company.

Company Histories, SWOT Analysis, Financials and Investment Reports

Enter the name of your company into the search box and make sure to indicate that it is the company name in the drop-down list on the left.

When your company information displays, you will see links to company histories, financials, investment reports, and SWOT reports.

Ratios

To find ratios, click on the financials link. 

Click on the ratios tab to find all the ratios for your company. 

If you are looking for financial ratios for an industry rather than a particular company, you can look up your industry by NAICS or code. Go to the Industries tab at the top of the page.

Click on All Industries.

Enter the NAICS code.

For both company and industry ratios, you may have to calculate some of the ratios. The formulas should be in your textbook as well as business and financial ratio books.
