Rose Basile Green was one of the pioneers who anthologized Italian American writers. Her work was carried on by Helen Barolini, Mary Jo Bona, Mary Ann Vigilante Mannino, Edvidge Giunta and others who concentrated on the often-overlooked works of women writers.
